Windsor Historical Society Hosts Hunger Program

On September 24, 6:00-7:30 p.m. at Windsor Historical Society, learn what you can do to help your neighbors amid the growing hunger crisis.

Did you know that the number of people enrolled at the Windsor Food and Fuel Bank has increased by almost 20% in the last year? Or that 1 in 4 students in Connecticut live with food insecurity? Hunger is not just a global issue, but a local issue. This lively community discussion led by representatives from Windsor Food and Fuel Bank, Connecticut Foodshare, Connecticut Department of Social Services, and Faces of Homelessness, will focus on what hunger looks like in Windsor, how it affects everyday life, and what actions individuals can take.

"Our community is stronger when we come together,” says Sulema DePeyster, Windsor Historical Society Board President. “And we can all play a role in securing equal access to nutritious food that helps our neighbors thrive physically, mentally, academically, and in all aspects of life."

Admission is free; donations to the Windsor Food and Fuel Bank appreciated.
