WINDSOR, CT — Here are some recent notable achievements for college students from Windsor, as reported by readMedia Newswire.
Bob Jones University, Greenville SC
- Erin Estelle, a sophomore accounting major of Windsor, was among approximately 500 Bob Jones University students named to the spring 2017 President's List. The President's List recognizes students who earn a 3.75 or higher grade point average for the semester.

- Eastern students from the Korean Samul Ensemble and Korean Music and Culture Class at Eastern Connecticut State University recently presented their annual spring Korean Music Concert in the Fine Arts Instructional Center (FAIC) Concert Hall. Jake Capobianco of Windsor was one of the musicians who performed. Capobianco's major is Biology. The Samul Ensemble focuses on traditional music and instruments of Korea. Students learn to play a variety of instruments in this ensemble as well as to learn the cultural heritage of the music they are performing. The majority of the student performers had no experience playing samul music prior to joining the ensemble, but expressed interest in music from a non-western tradition. Directed by Professor Okan Hwang, the ensemble presented a collection of traditional Korean music, including folk songs and southeastern region rhythms by Isang Yun, Yiruma, Kim Min-ki.
Union College, Schenectady NY
- Meaghan Reid, of Windsor, was a presenter at Union College's annual Steinmetz Symposium Day.
Held yearly since 1991, the symposium features an extensive array of oral presentations, posters, performances and exhibits, with concurrent sessions held all day in lieu of regularly scheduled classes. The evening includes a reception and musical performances. Reid is a member of the Class of 2017.
