Join the Windsor Historical Society for their Genealogy series, Part 1.
Judith Ellen Johnson, former Genealogist for The Connecticut Historical Society, will share fascinating stories of her Irish and Swedish ancestors who migrated to Connecticut in the 19th century as well as imparting some of the joys and roadblocks in her searches. She will show how historical and family records such as birth, marriage and death records, census materials, land records, city directories, local histories, family reminiscences and more helped reveal the personalities and motivations of her forbears and the situations they faced prompting migration to America. Tips for dealing with foreign language records will be shared.
