Foodshare Joins The Dunkin' Donuts & Baskin-Robbins Community Foundation to Host National Week of Service
Local Feeding America® Food Bank Joins in Collective Volunteer Week to Support Hunger Relief

Foodshare recently teamed up with The Dunkin’ Donuts & Baskin-Robbins Community Foundation (DDBRCF), in celebration of the Foundation’s first National Week of Service, to engage the community in the fight to solve hunger. The Foodshare staff and local Dunkin’ Donuts franchisees and crew came together at the food bank facilities in Bloomfield on Thursday to volunteer and help feed those in need in Greater Hartford. Foodshare, a Feeding America® network member, is among the many participating food banks to hold volunteer events with DDBRCF across the country the week of October 13, during which 1,800 Dunkin’ Donuts franchisees, employees, and friends donated their time to local food banks, totaling over 60 events nationwide.
The DDBRCF is a long-time partner to Feeding America and their network food bank members. Earlier this year, The DDBRCF announced a $1 million, three-year partnership with Feeding America that will support critical initiatives nationwide to help alleviate childhood hunger, including the BackPack Program and School Pantry Program.
In Hartford and Tolland counties alone—the area served by Foodshare—there are 128,000 people who cannot be sure where their next meal is coming from. That includes one out of every five children in the area.
