Historic Homes Open For Rare Tour In Windsor

WINDSOR, CT — A popular Windsor tradition is returning this month, giving visitors a rare chance to step inside some of the town’s distinctive homes.

The Windsor Historical Society will hold its Windsor House Tour from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. June 13. The biennial fundraiser celebrates Windsor’s architectural heritage and supports the society’s work to share and preserve the town’s history.

This year’s tour will feature homes along historic Route 159, which was formerly known as the Upper Boston Post Road. The homes represent a range of time periods and styles, according to the Windsor Historical Society.

The event is aimed at longtime history lovers, first-time visitors and anyone interested in architecture, design or Windsor’s local character. Organizers said the tour offers a look at beautifully maintained and creatively lived-in homes.

Tickets are $35 for adults, $15 for youth ages 13 to 17 and free for children 12 and younger. Tickets are available in person at The Bean@226, at all three Windsor Federal locations in Windsor and online through the Windsor Historical Society.

The society said ticket purchases support its educational and preservation efforts.
