Special Olympics Athletes to Compete at the Northern Time Trials in Windsor, May 15

Special Olympics Connecticut will hold its 2016 Northern Time Trials at The Loomis Chaffe School on Sunday, May 15th.

Special Olympics Connecticut will hold its 2016 Northern Time Trials, presented by Hoffman Audi and Enterprise Rent-A-Car, at The Loomis Chaffee School, 4 Batchelder Road in Windsor, on Sunday, May 15th; from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Opening Ceremonies will begin at 8 a.m. This annual event will give athletes of all abilities from the region opportunities to compete in track & field and aquatics, after much training and preparation. Events are open to the public and there is no cost to attend. All are encouraged to come out and cheer on those who will be competing! Close to a thousand athletes and Unified Sports® partners are expected to participate. An additional 300+ coaches and 600+ volunteers are expected to support the event. In addition to competition, athletes will have the opportunity to visit Olympic Town - an area offering entertainment, educational and interactive activities - during the downtime between their events.

The Northern Time Trials is the qualifying event for the Special Olympics Connecticut Summer Games state competition, coming up the weekend of June 10th -12th at Southern Connecticut State University in New Haven and Hamden Hall Athletic Fields in Hamden.
