Wallaroos Take "Sensory Saunter" at the Park
Roger Wolcott students are using what they learned at Northwest Park to create a book that will be available at town libraries.
Roger Wolcott students paid a special visit to Northwest Park on Tuesday for a "sensory saunter." The kindergartners were given a lesson in all that Windsor's nature reserve has to offer with an emphasis placed on the use of the five senses to identify particular elements in nature.
The students will take what they learned and work with visiting author/illustrator Virginia Lynn Anderson to create a book that will be available in the school and town libraries.
The work with Anderson has been made possible by a Windsor Education Fund grant.
