Windsor Board of Education Welcomes New Member

Ayana Taylor replaced Nuchette Black-Burke who is now serving on the Windsor Town Council

Ayana Taylor was sworn in as a Windsor Board of Education member at a regular board meeting held on October 16, 2018. She replaced Nuchette Black-Burke who is now serving on the Windsor Town Council.

Ayana Taylor is currently the Employer Developer for the Center for Internships and Career Development at Eastern Connecticut State University. She also serves as a consultant for INROADS with their Career Links Pre-College Program, a national non-profit with a focus on diversity and inclusion. Ayana is also a licensed realtor with William Raveis First Town Real Estate, located in Windsor center.

Ayana is a 1999 graduate of Windsor High School and holds a Bachelor's Degree in English and Sociology from Central Connecticut State University. She is a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. and the United State of Women Greater Hartford Chapter as well as a former John F. Kennedy School PTO Vice President. Ayana is also a member of Metropolitan AME Zion Church in Hartford where she is the Young Adult Christian Ministry Secretary and teaches Sunday school to young children. Since her return to Windsor, she has served on various task force and community partnership committees and continues to advocate for children and families throughout Connecticut.

Ayana lives in Windsor with her husband, Steven Sr., daughter Chloe, and son Steven Jr.
