Second-Floor Blaze Leaves Home Uninhabitable
Emergency crews rushed to Sage Park Drive after reports of a residential fire, as cold temperatures add to already challenging conditions
WINDSOR, CT — A Friday morning house fire at a single-family home on Sage Park Road displaced residents after flames broke out in an upstairs bedroom, according to an email from Windsor fire officials.
Windsor Public Safety Dispatch received a report of active fire and smoke at 5 Sage Park Road around 9:06 a.m. Windsor Fire was immediately dispatched along with Windsor Police and Windsor EMS.
The first fire unit arrived to find smoke and fire conditions coming from a second-floor bedroom, prompting crews to declare a working fire. Officials said all occupants were already out of the home when firefighters arrived.

Firefighters stretched an attack line to the second floor and were able to quickly knock down the fire. The incident was later placed under control.
All Windsor fire companies responded to the scene. Blue Hills Fire was called in for mutual aid at the fire scene, while the South Windsor Fire Department provided coverage in town as Windsor units were committed.

No civilian injuries or firefighter injuries were reported.
Fire officials said the home has been deemed uninhabitable, and the American Red Cross was requested to assist the displaced occupants.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation by the Windsor Fire Marshal’s Office.
