Windsor High School Students Participate in "It's On Us" Campaign
Campaign is part of Sexual Assault Awareness Month to help create a culture of consent, bystander intervention and survivor support
Windsor High School took part in their first annual "It's On Us" campaign as part of Sexual Assault Awareness Month. During lunch, students had the opportunity to join the movement by taking the pledge online and including their name on a banner to commit to helping create a culture of consent, bystander intervention and survivor support.
The school community participated in Denim Day to wear jeans with a purpose and educate themselves about sexual assault. Staff that participated raised money for the YWCA of New Britain, who provide support services to students that have been sexually assaulted.
Students also painted the rock outside the high school as part of the "It's On Us" campaign. Teal flags were set up in the shape of ribbons near the rock, the red tile entrance and the Windsor High sign to raise awareness.
