Windsor Man Who Shot Into Group At Fireworks Sentenced
A Windsor man will serve prison time in connection with the Hartford incident.
WINDSOR, CT — A local man will serve four years in prison after he repeatedly fired a pistol into a group following a fireworks display in Hartford last year, The Journal-Inquirer reported. Michael Robinson's attorney said he did this to defend himself against people who "ambushed" him and his friends because they mistakenly thought he had committed another shooting.
State prosecutors, however, said that Robinson's actions were reckless and that he was lucky he wasn't facing murder or attempted murder charges, according to The Journal-Inquirer.
No one was injured in the incident, but a skyscraper at Hartford's Constitution Plaza suffered $98,000 in damages.
