Born in New London to the late Algot and Ruth (Daniels) Nilsson, he was raised in Clinton, MA and graduated from Clinton High School. During high school, Albie, as he was known, began working at First National Supermarkets stocking shelves. Following high school graduation, Albie served his country proudly with the US Army during the Vietnam War. After his discharge, he resumed working for First National Supermarkets where he eventually moved from store positions to their corporate office before ending his career with them as an advertising manager. In 1978, when his employer moved from Somerville, MA to Windsor Locks, Albie moved to Windsor with his wife and daughter, where he has been a resident for over 37 years.

He was an active member of the Windsor Elks Lodge #2060 and enjoyed golfing, but his main focus was his family - especially his grandchildren, who will miss him dearly.
