Windsor Obituary: Edward Mehl, 66

Condolences to his family and friends.

Edward "Eddie" Thomas Mehl, 66, of Windsor, beloved husband of the late Andrea Mary (Torre) Mehl, passed away suddenly on Friday, June 3, 2016, at Hartford Hospital.

Born in Hartford on May 26, 1950, son of the late Frank S. and Doris (Nelson) Mehl, he was lifelong resident of Windsor and a graduate of Windsor High School, Class of 1968. Eddie worked for the last 10 years for Sears as a service technician. Previously, Eddie had worked in the construction industry for many years for Sinco, Inc. He installed construction netting on high-rise buildings and skyscrapers throughout the country, including several well-known buildings in New York and Las Vegas.

In his spare time, he enjoyed spending time with his friends at the VFW in Windsor Center and helping in the many charitable activities and fundraisers that the VFW was involved in. He loved boating, fishing, playing cards, shooting darts, golfing, and spending time with his dog, Schuyler. A sports fan, Eddie loved to watch his favorite teams including the New England Patriots, the New York Yankees, and his favorite NASCAR driver Jimmie Johnson.

He leaves a sister, Donna M. Kluczwski and her husband Brad of Enfield; a niece, Karey Kluczwski of Enfield; two nephews, Mark Kluczwski and his wife Kristy of Stoughton, MA, and Neil Kluczwski and his wife Aimee of Enfield; five great nephews, Tre, Caden, Shane, Ethan, and Aiden Kluczwski; his close friend, Deanna Marie Liauppa; and many cousins and friends.

His family will receive friends on Thursday, June 9, 5-8 p.m., at the Carmon Windsor Funeral Home, 807 Bloomfield Ave., Windsor. A funeral service will be held on Friday, June 10, 10 a.m., in the chapel of the Carmon Windsor Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Riverside Cemetery, Windsor.
