Windsor Obituary: Marvin Jones, 58

Condolences to his family and friends.

Marvin "Keith" Jones, 58, of Windsor, died on Monday, June 20, 2016 at home.

Born in Hartford on July 9, 1957, son of Marvin Edward and Joan (Howard) Jones of Windsor. He graduated from Windsor High in 1975. Marvin served proudly with the Hartford Fire Department for 9 years. He also worked as a paraprofessional for the Hartford Board of Education. He also refereed football and basketball throughout Connecticut and loved playing football and basketball too. He was an avid NY Giants, NY Yankees and Kansas City Chiefs fan, and enjoyed cooking, especially grilling on the BBQ, jazz music and going to the beach, but most important was spending time with his family who will miss him dearly.

He is survived by his parents Marvin and Joan of Windsor; his daughters Courtney Jones of Hartford, Endia Jones of Windsor and Marisha DeVone of NC; his son Quentin Keith Jones of New Britain; his brother Kyle E. Jones of Emporia, KS; his sisters Terrie Jones-Thomas of South Windsor and Cindy L. Jones of Hartford; his grandchildren Andrew, Laylah and My'Lanah Ortiz, Marcus Jones and Quentin Jones, Jr., and Janiyah Wilson. He was predeceased by his son Jetson K. Jones.

A funeral service will be held at 11 AM Wednesday, June 29 at St. Monica's Episcopal Church, 3575 Main St. Hartford, followed by burial in Riverside Cemetery, Windsor. His family will receive friends prior to the service on Wednesday from 10 AM to 11 AM.
