Windsor Obituary: Sr. Mary Patrice Mahoney, 81

Sr. Mary Patrice Mahoney, SNDdeN, (Eileen Frances), of Julie House, Windsor, passed away Friday, May 20, 2016, at the Notre Dame Long Term Care Center, Worcester, MA.

Born in Westfield, MA, daughter of the late Patrick J. and Mary (Carney) Mahoney, she was raised in Springfield where she attended both Sacred Heart Elementary and High Schools. Sr. Mary Patrice entered religious life in 1952. She received her BA degree in music from Emmanuel College, Boston and MA in music from Hartt School of Music, Hartford. She taught in MA schools and St. Maurice Jr. High School and St. Thomas Aquinas High School both in New Britain for many years. She retired to Julie House in Windsor after serving as Director of Religious Education for St. Cecilia's Parish, Wilbraham, MA.

Besides her Notre Dame family; she leaves two nephews Edward Casey (Kathleen) of Springfield, MA and Sean Casey (Debra) of East Longmeadow, MA; two nieces Anne Marie Casey of FL and Mary Eileen Casey of Springfield, MA; grand nephews and nieces Rory, Caitlin, Timothy, and Mary Casey; great grandnephews and nieces Patrick, Amelia, and Tilia.

Family and friends are invited to call Wednesday, May 25, 2016, from 1-2pm at Julie House, 425 Poquonock Avenue, Windsor. A prayer service will follow at 2 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 3 pm at Julie House. Burial will be Thursday, 10 am at Mount Saint Benedict Cemetery.
