Windsor Obituary: Virginia Cormier, 78

Condolences to her family and friends.

Virginia B. Cormier, 78, of Windsor, beloved wife for almost 52 years of Raymond Cormier, passed away peacefully on Friday, April 1, 2016 at Hartford Hospital.

Born in Hartford to the late Lorec and Helen (Porgorzelski) Bogun, she has been a Windsor resident for over 30 years. Virginia was a avid sports fan, she loved UConn and the Boston Red Sox, but her favorite was watching her grandchildren play in Windsor Little League games. She enjoyed helping her husband with their garden and taking trips to Atlantic City to play the slots. A loving wife, mother, aunt and grandmother, she will be dearly missed.

Besides her husband Raymond of Windsor, she is survived by her son Greg Cormier and his wife Kelly of Niantic; her daughter Stacey Hallgren and her husband Andrew of Windsor; her brother Edward Bogun and his wife Tess of West Hartford; her sister Ruth Taylor of West Hartford; her sister-in-law Rita Boyko of North Carolina; and her grandchildren Shannon, Erin, Christopher, Matthew and Amanda. Besides her parents she was predeceased by her brothers-in-law Henry Taylor, Robert Cormier and Martin Boyko and her nephew Gary Taylor.

A funeral service will be held at 10 AM Thursday, April 7 at the Carmon Funeral Home, 807 Bloomfield Ave Windsor. Burial in Windsor Veterans Memorial Cemetery will be private and at the convenience of the family. Her family will receive friends on Wednesday, April 6 from 4 PM to 7 PM at the funeral home.
