Windsor Public Schools Announces 2016-2017 Teacher of the Year Recipient
Jennifer Tigre Recognized For Excellence in Teaching and Inspiring a Love for Learning in her Students
Windsor Public Schools is pleased to announce Jennifer Tigre as the 2016-2017 Windsor Teacher of the Year. Tigre has been a teacher in Windsor Public Schools since 2010 and is currently an eighth grade English Language Arts teacher at Sage Park Middle School. A committee of her peers selected her from 57 nominated teachers.
Tigre is a graduate of Endicott College where she received a Bachelor of Arts Degree in English and completed coursework for her teaching certification at San Diego State University. She is currently pursuing a Masters Degree in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of New England.
”Jennifer arrives to school every day with a brave smile and an urgency to assist our students, said Paul Cavaliere, Sage Park Middle School Principal. ”She strives to provide an equal opportunity for all of her students to succeed and never allows any obstacle to stand in her way of becoming a great role model for our children."

The Windsor Public Schools’ Teacher of the Year Program recognizes and honors excellence in teaching. Every recipient serves as a visible and vocal representative of what is best in the profession. The program celebrates excellence by recognizing teachers who have inspired a love for learning in their students and who have distinguished themselves in the profession.
Tigre will now serve as Windsor Public Schools’ nominee for the State of Connecticut Teacher of the Year. Tigre will be recognized by the Board of Education in the fall.
