Windsor Woman's Club - Call for Canoe Race Assistance

The heavier the item, the happier we will be!

There are lots of things to do Saturday, October 11, 2014 on the Windsor Green; there is the Lion Club’s Craft Fair; the Chamber of Commerce’s Chili Challenge; and the Kiwanis Club’s annual “canoe race” (which benefits the Windsor Food & Fuel Bank). Several local non-profit organizations each sponsor a canoe, and collect non-perishable items, which are weighed. The distance the canoe “travels” determines the winner of the race. Monetary donations are also accepted.

The Windsor Woman’s Club is again sponsoring a canoe and is putting out a call to one and all to please come on October 11th, after 10am, and before 2pm, with your heavy non-perishable items or, if you prefer, cash, which is always welcome.

The Windsor Woman’s Club is part of the General Federation of Women’s Clubs. The GFWC, started in New York in 1890, is an organization dedicated to community improvement through volunteering.
