Allied will host a free technology seminar on March 23
"Using Technology to Create a Good Life" is designed for people with intellectual disabilities, their families, caregivers, friends, etc.

The Department of Developmental Services (DDS) will present “Using Technology to Create a Good Life” at Allied Community Services, 3 Pearson Way in Enfield on March 23 from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m.
This free seminar is designed for people with intellectual disabilities, their families, caregivers, classmates, teachers, friends and supporters. Presenters include a private provider representative and mother and daughter who have been using technology everyday to enhance personal communication and communication among team members; to make learning easier and faster; and to increase independence at home, at work, at school and while enjoying recreational activities.
A wide range of assistive technologies will be reviewed, such as no-tech (pictures, checklists, etc.), low-tech (picture phones, timers, alerts, etc.), moderate-tech (scanners, software, Smart Home devices, etc.) and high-tech (software and apps). The purposes of the presentation are to show people that using technology is not as hard as they may think; to illustrate how technology can be used to keep people safe; and to demonstrate how it can help make learning easier.
