• Business Approved For Vacant Windsor Locks Site (patch.com) — Town planners have approved a Firestone automotive service center for the long-vacant former bank site at 6 National Drive in Windsor Locks, near Route 75. The 6,000-square-foot shop would bring several new jobs, handle up to 30 vehicles a day, and rework driveway access, though construction may not start until spring 2027 pending state permits.
   

• Connecticut father left sleeping 1-year-old in truck with AC on before child died, police say (thehour.com) — A 1-year-old boy died after being left for an extended time in a pickup truck at a family-run strawberry farm in East Windsor, with police saying the vehicle's interior became uninhabitable in Saturday's heat. A meteorologist noted Bradley Airport in Windsor Locks hit 81 degrees, conditions under which a car can quickly reach deadly temperatures, and the child's father now faces a risk of injury charge.
