WINDSOR LOCKS, CT — Police have arrested a Hartford man in connection with an attempted carjacking in Windsor Locks in December, according to police.
On Dec. 10 around 2:08 a.m., police responded to the Pride gas station on Route 75 after a 67-year-old man reported he had been approached by a black man brandishing a firearm, demanding his car. The victim was shoved to the ground, but the bandit was unsuccessful in putting the man's car into gear and fled on foot to an awaiting vehicle, Lt. Paul Cherniack said.
A lengthy investigation identified the suspect as Elian Estremera, 21. He was taken into custody at his home and charged with conspiracy to commit third-degree larceny, first-degree robbery and carjacking. He is being held on a court-set bond of $150,000.
