WINDSOR LOCKS, CT — A woman was the victim of an armed carjacking on Route 75 Thursday night, sustaining a minor head injury during the robbery, according to police.

Around 10:05 p.m., Windsor Locks police responded to a call of an armed carjacking at the intersection of Ella Grasso Turnpike and Schoephoester Road. The suspects had stolen the victim’s vehicle at gunpoint, Lt. Paul Cherniack said.

A woman told police that while en route to the post office, her car, a 2020 Infiniti QX80, was bumped from behind by what is believed to be a blue Acura sedan. She inspected the minor damage, and a man exited the Acura. The woman told him she was calling police, and as she walked to her car, two men with handguns grabbed her and dragged her back toward their car, Cherniack said.

The woman said the men roughly placed a handgun to her temple and another into the left side of her torso. One of the men said, "If you scream, I’ll kill you." The third man then got into the driver's side of the Infiniti, and they all fled toward Suffield in the Infiniti, suspected Acura and a white Honda Civic, Cherniack said.

A variety of personal items and cash were in the stolen Infiniti. A tracker on board the car was followed by Windsor Locks police, and it came to rest on Richards Street in New Britain. Police there found the vehicle unoccupied, and it was towed back to Windsor Locks for processing, Cherniack said.

The victim had a small laceration near her left temple, but otherwise refused medical attention, Cherniack said.

One suspect was described as a black male, and the others remain unidentified with no further characteristics, the lieutenant said.
