This is a wake up call for Town Hall and BOF!

When will leadership actually listen to the taxpayers and HONOR THE TOWN CHARTER? How many referendums do we have to vote down before the Board of Finance realizes we are at our absolute breaking point? On July 14th, Windsor Locks taxpayers marched to the polls for the FOURTH time in two months and obliterated the proposed operating budget in a massive 1,167 to 290 vote. That’s over 80% of this town shouting NO at the top of our lungs!

Now, to make matters worse, why is the emergency Board of Finance redo meeting scheduled for 5 PM? That is when working people are just getting off their shifts, stuck in traffic, or picking up their kids from daycare. Is scheduling this during rush hour a deliberate ploy to suppress public attendance so working-class families can't show up to speak?
Working families are out here battling relentless inflation, soaring utility bills, and shrinking paychecks, yet town leadership keeps bringing back recycled proposals expecting us to act like a bottomless bank account. They cut pocket change around the edges and tried to weaponize threats against our library hours and summer camps to scare us into backing down. Using essential public services as emotional blackmail because residents demand basic fiscal discipline isn't governance—it's extortion.

Four straight votes—June 2nd, June 16th, June 30th, and July 14th—and they still refuse to present a lean, honest, responsible budget right out of the gate. No matter what obstacles or inconvenient meeting times they put in front of us, WE HAVE TO STAND UP. Stop being afraid to stand up for yourself, your family, and your community. Show up to Town Hall, fill that meeting room, and make your voice heard!
