CSP OUT at Bradley Airport/ WLPD In?

On December 12, 2013 the Windsor Locks Police Commission held an illegal Executive Session “To discuss matters concerning security strategy and the deployment of security personnel”. In attendances at this Executive Session were the Board of Selectmen and Members of the Board of Finance. This Secret Police Meetig was to discuss the possibility of the Windsor Locks Police Dept. to assume Law Enforcement Responsibilities at Bradley Field and relieving the Connecticut State Police to assume other duties. This type of Major Change should be presented to the Towns people for their input at a Public Session of the Police Commission .I Strenuously Objected to this Illegal Executive session ! My objection went unanswered and they went into Executive Session. I have since filed a Freedom of Information Complaint because I strongly feel the Towns People should have an input on this matter. That they should know the pros and cons of taking on this responsibility and if there is to be any financial impact on the Tax Payers of Windsor Locks.

It should be noted that after this December 12th Police Commission meeting that Police Commission Chairman Kevin Brace has apparently asked the Chief to relive an Officer of his Patrol Duties, in this crime ridden town, and station this Officer at the Police Commission Meetings. I personally see this as a matter of attempted Intimidation and an attempt to silence anyone who would dare to try and Infringe On Their Private Domain.

I personally asked Chief Osanitsch if he had recently visited northern Police Agency that had law Enforcement Responsibilities for an Airport. I asked who accompanied him and what Agency did him visit. In the usual spirit of Transparency and Accountability from the Chief and Police Commission my question was Ignored and Remained Unanswered. I encourage you the Tax Payers and Residents of Windsor Locks to contact Chief Osanitsch at eosanitsch@windsorlockspolice.com and your Police Commission at wlpdchairman@windsorlockspolice.com.  And demand a Public meeting to discuss this issue. Personally I don’t have any objection to this change as long as there are no negative impact that can adversely  impact our Towns People.
