East Windsor First Selectman Reveals Potential Casino Site
The site for the potential casino was publicly identified for the first time at the board of selectmen meeting.

East Windsor First Selectman Robert Maynard has identified a Route 5 site, which is accessible from Exit 44 off I-91, as the potential location of the stateβs third casino, according to the New London Day.
The Day reports Maynard identified the site publicly for the first time on Tuesday night and told residents at the Board of Selectmen meeting that it was too late in the process to promote other sites that had previously been considered, including parcels containing a former Showcase Cinemas Building and a former Wal-Mart store.
Several residents who spoke at the meeting were βcool to the ideaβ and raised concerns about having the casino in town, according to the Day.

While Selectman Steve Dearborn strongly supported the idea, he didnβt think it would be approved in a referendum vote if East Windsor was identified as the preferred site, according to the Day.
Owners of Foxwoods Casino and the Mohegan Sun Casino, both located within sovereign Native American nations, have collaborated to try and place a third casino in north central Connecticut, in response to the development of an MGM casino in nearby Springfield, Mass.
