East Windsor Man Charged With 5 Family Dollar Robberies: Police

A man initially arrested for the robbery of a Windsor Locks store is accused of robbing the same store five times.

WINDSOR LOCKS, CT - An East Windsor man who allegedly robbed a Dexter Avenue Family Dollar store last month is now under arrest for five other robberies, according to a police statement. Colin Theobold, 31, was charged with four counts of third-degree robbery and one count of first degree robbery for two separate cases.

Police said Theobold was initially caught after a robbery at the Family Dollar March 25, when they received a report regarding a man who grabbed cash from the store's register and fled in an SUV. Theobold then fled on foot from a residence before police caught him in the woods nearby.

The description of the suspect and summary of events were similar to previous robberies at same location.

During the course of an investigation, police found evidence that Theobold committed four other robberies of the Family Dollar store as well as a robbery of a Casey's Market at 496 Spring St. Aug. 27, 2018.

He was held on $50,000 bond for the four counts of third-degree robbery and $150,000 bond for the first-degree robbery charge.

He was scheduled to appear at Enfield Superior Court Monday.
