Art, music, conversation and sometimes hula hoops on the third Thursday of every month.
In the galleries this month is Ephemeroom, an exhibition highlighting important moments and objects of Real Art Ways history created from relics in our archives and provided by friends, patrons and fans. During the hours of 6-8pm.
Also in the galleries is The Making 'of Lamb', an exhibition of drawings by Amy Jean Porter, in collaboration with poet Matthea Harvey. Harvey randomly selected a biography of 19th century British thinker Charles Lamb and began a process of erasure, whiting out words on each page until she had the text of small poems. Porter created drawings of each and sequenced them into a longer work.
From 8-10 pm, the American/Brazilian collective Nation Beat entertain us with their fusion sound inspired by Brazilian maracatu drumming, New Orleans second line rhythms, funk and country-blues.
