On Sunday, September 30th at 1:30pm, the New England Air Museum in Windsor Locks, Connecticut will host Steve Kanaras of Free Lunch Comics. His topic will be “Comic Construction of WWII.” Comic books enjoyed new heights of popularity during this war, and it remained a fertile setting for comics for many years after. This program will explore the various wartime comics, how GIs enjoyed the books, and how the artists of the books referenced equipment to create convincing settings for their stories. Artists covered include Will Eisner, Joe Kubert, Jack Kirby, and others. This program is included with the price of admission.
