Insight Art Show Features Award-Winning Artists

The Arts Council in Monson, Massachusetts has announced the award-winning entries of Insight, its 18th Annual Spring Exhibition. The winners include people from Broad Brook and Enfield and include an Honorable Mention from Vernon. They are:

  • The Shepherd Family Award went to Geoffrey Houghton for his watercolor painting "The New Woman." Houghton grew up in Monson and currently lives in Broad Brook. 
  • Barbara Scavotto-Earley, of Enfield, received the first-place award in the three-dimensional category for "Chair of the Boar." 
  • The People's Choice Award went to Donna Shaw, of Enfield, for "Changing Birches."
  • In the Painting Category, Barbara S. Groff of Vernon received an Honorable Mention for her painting, "Irma's Nest." 

Seventy-six artists from throughout Massachusetts and Connecticut are represented in the art exhibition and sale. InSight, one of the region's largest art shows, will be open for a final weekend at the House of Art, 200 Main St. on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday from noon to 4 p.m.

All works in the exhibit are available for sale. In addition, prints by many of the participating artists will be for sale in the shop at the House of Art.
