Investigation Reveals CT Governor's Son Boarded Plane at Bradley Airport With Unchecked Backpack
Airport video footage showed Gov. Malloy himself took his son's backpack down a secure non-public corridor, then gave it to him at the gate.

WINDSOR LOCKS, CT — An investigation by the Hartford Courant has delved into an alleged security breach committed by Gov. Dannel Malloy at Bradley International Airport last fall.
In surveillance video obtained by the Courant, Malloy and his wife brought their son Samuel to the airport after a Thanksgiving visit. The video shows Samuel being directed to a security checkpoint and handing his backpack to his father, who was then escorted by his state police security detail down a non-public corridor to the gate.
The governor's son and wife are then seen on video entering an airport store, with Samuel in possession of the backpack. Subsequent footage shows the first couple departing back down the same corridor through which they had entered.

U.S. Senate candidate Dan Carter of Bethel issued a statement Thursday afternoon, questioning whether incumbent Sen. Richard Blumenthal will ask for a full investigation of both Malloy and the Transportation Security Administration concerning the incident.
“Since April of this year, Senator Blumenthal has sent out press releases lauding his own efforts to strengthen airport security, is this what he had in mind,” asked Carter. “He’s called on government accountability and transparency over eighty five times since going to the Senate. Will he do so again today? Or will he turn another blind eye because this involves his ‘good friend’ Dan Malloy?”
