Massive Expansion Project Pitched For Bradley
A $1.4 billion project is reportedly in the works.

WINDSOR LOCKS, CT - Bradley International Airport has a $1.4 billion renovation and expansion plan in the works, WTNH reported. The plan needs to be approved by the FAA before the Connecticut Airport Authority seeks funding.
The CAA plan calls for a new terminal, an onsite car rental center, more parking and more roundabouts, according to WTNH. The expansion would be to accommodate additional passenger traffic during the next 20 years.
So far, 2019 is shaping up to be a big year for Bradley. The airport has seen growing passenger traffic in recent years and has plans to add routes to the Caribbean, Phoenix, and Seattle.

Airport officials will hold meetings with at least ten airlines in an effort to bring new routes and increase passenger traffic. Seattle in particular will be a focus destination in 2019.
At the same time, the airport may see a name change to increase recognition. The idea is to add Connecticut, Hartford, or Springfield, as the current name sometimes leads to confusion.
