Job termination at the Windsor Locks manufacturer will begin June 30, with final closure of the plant scheduled for early August.

WINDSOR LOCKS, CT — The nation's largest mattress manufacturing company will soon be permanently shuttering its Windsor Locks plant, resulting in job losses for more than 150 employees.
Serta Simmons Bedding LLC (SSB) filed paperwork last week with the Connecticut Department of Labor in Wethersfield, outlining a closure plan for its plant at 100 D. Hagen Drive. Employees will begin losing their jobs June 30, with final closure scheduled on or about August 4.
An SSB spokesperson emailed Patch, "We are building a high-performing and resilient supply chain at SSB so we can continue delivering exceptional service to our retail partners and sleepers. As part of this, we are optimizing our manufacturing footprint which includes expanding our operations in some areas and consolidating or closing other operations. We are grateful for the contributions that our Windsor Locks manufacturing teams have made to SSB and are committed to supporting these associates through the transition."
