Suspect In Windsor Locks Homicide Turns Himself In [UPDATED]
The suspect had fled in a green Nissan Pathfinder, according to an alert broadcast to law enforcement agencies in all surrounding towns.

WINDSOR LOCKS, CT — A shooting behind an Old County Road apartment building left a man dead and a suspect in custody at the Hartford Police Department.
An alert was broadcast at 11:16 a.m. to all surrounding law enforcement agencies, identifying a suspect as 38-year-old Antwon Barnes. He is said to have fled the scene of the shooting at 131 Old County Road in a green 1998 Nissan Pathfinder.
Barnes is believed to have shot and killed Leroy Jefferson of Hartford around 10:50 a.m., then pointing a handgun at Jefferson's companion and pulling the trigger, only to have the weapon misfire. He then fled to Hartford; in the interim, a Windsor Locks police officer made contact with Barnes and persuaded him to surrender before the situation could escalate further, Lt. Paul Cherniack said.
