WINDSOR LOCKS, CT — A Bloomfield man suspected of being one of three men involved in an armed situation in early June, threatening to shoot employees at the Wendy's restaurant on Route 75, was turned over to Windsor Locks police Wednesday immediately upon his release from the Connecticut Department of Correction facility.

Jadore Wong-Sang, 21, was released from the Osborn Correctional Institution, where he was being held on a parole violation, and immediately taken back into custody by Windsor Locks authorities. He was charged with illegal possession of a weapon in a motor vehicle, criminal possession of a firearm, illegal possession of an extended pistol magazine, interfering with police, possession of cocaine, illegal sale of narcotics, second-degree breach of peace, engaging police in pursuit, reckless driving and larceny of a motor vehicle.

Bond on the new charges was set at $750,000, and Wong-Sang was slated to be arraigned Thursday.

He was on parole following a 30-month sentence handed out in 2021, in connection with robbery and conspiracy charges brought by Avon police following an incident in July 2019, according to judicial records.

According to police, on June 5 around 7:16 p.m., officers responded to Wendy's on Ella Grasso Turnpike upon a report that a person threatened to shoot employees. A BMW wanted in connection with the case was spotted on Route 75 and ran a red light before entering Route 20. Stop sticks were deployed by police, but the car continued to flee at a high rate of speed, Lt. Paul Cherniack said.

The BMW entered Interstate 91 south and attempted to ram police cruisers. Its tires finally deflated, and the car got off the highway at Exit 38. Three men immediately exited the vehicle and ran into a wooded area along the right shoulder of the highway, jumping a chain link fence, Cherniack said.

A canine officer and assisting units continued a foot chase of the men, and two were captured in the wooded area. After an extensive search, the third man, later identified as Wong-Sang, eluded police under the cover of nightfall, Cherniack said.

Narcotics and a Glock 22c .40 caliber pistol, modified to make it fully automatic, was recovered. The pistol was loaded with a round in the chamber, and had an illegal extended magazine. Other drug distribution supplies were also recovered, and upon resumption of a search the following day, a loaded .38 revolver was recovered in the area of 200 Lamberton Road in Windsor, where the BMW had come to a stop, Cherniack said.

Wong-Sang was eventually identified by various investigative techniques and resources, and a warrant was issued for his arrest. He was taken into custody as he exited Osborn CI and brought back to Windsor Locks, Cherniack said.

The other two men arrested in connection with the case are still facing numerous charges. Govonni Nelson, 20, of Springfield Gardens, N.Y., remains in custody in lieu of $500,000 bond, and is due to appear next in Hartford Superior Court Aug. 15. Raheem Kenneth Harris, 20, of Hartford, has been free since posting $100,000 bond; he is due to return to court July 27.
