Windsor Locks Girls Tennis Defeats Coventry But Loses To Granby in Triple Header

In NCCC Girls’ Tennis on Wednesday afternoon at Windsor Locks High School, there was a rare triple-header using Eight-Game Pro-Sets. 

Third Place Granby (14-4) defeated 6th-Place Windsor Locks (7-11)  6-1 and 10th-Place Coventry (0-18) 7-0.   Windsor Locks also defeated Coventry 7-0.  

Windsor Locks #3 Singles Junior Carolyn Vo earned her team’s only point against Granby before winning her second match later in the day against Coventry.  Julie DellaGuistina won the clinching match for Windsor Locks as the team swept Coventry for the 2nd time this season. 

Windsor Locks #1 Doubles Senior Amy Wetzel and Windsor Locks #3 Doubles Senior Ali Martinez won in the last regular season matches for the team’s Co-Captains.  The win was the 7th of the season for the 2011 Windsor Locks team as it showed great improvement from the 2010 winless season.
