Antwon Barnes was convicted of first-degree manslaughter, attempt to commit first-degree assault and third-degree larceny.

HARTFORD, CT — A Windsor Locks man convicted of manslaughter in connection with the 2019 shooting death of another man was sentenced Wednesday to 50 years in prison, according to Sharmese L. Walcott, Hartford State’s Attorney.
Antwon Barnes, 41, was sentenced by Judge Michael J. Gustafson for the 2019 shooting death of Leroy Jefferson in Windsor Locks. On Dec. 9, 2022, a Hartford Superior Court jury found Barnes guilty of first-degree manslaughter, attempt to commit first-degree assault and third-degree larceny.
Testimony at trial indicated Barnes fatally shot Jefferson 41 times in the hallway of an apartment building on Old County Road on Oct. 22, 2019. He also threatened to kill a woman at the scene while holding a gun to her head, then later fled the scene in a stolen vehicle, Walcott said.
