Windsor Locks Obituary: Tammy Rood, 45

Tammy Lee Rood, 45, of Windsor Locks passed away Friday, September 23, 2016 at St. Francis Hospital, Hartford.

Born November 4, 1970 in Westfield, MA daughter of Susan Lee (Hunt) Rood of Windsor Locks and the late William E. Rood. She grew up in Suffield before moving to Windsor Locks. She was employed by CIGNA, she enjoyed traveling, making jewelry and candy, but most of all she loved her family, especially her two nephews, Adam and Eric, whom she helped raise and was like a second mother too.

Tammy was very involved with her nephews scouting, she served as den leader as well as cub master. Also very close to Tammy was her church, St. Mary's Church in Windsor Locks, she was very active, serving as Eucharistic Minister and teaching in their C.C.D. program.

Besides her mother, she is survived by a sister, Kimberly Rood of Windsor Locks; two nephews, Adam and Eric Kredar and many Aunts, Uncles, Cousins and friends.

Her family will receive friends Wednesday, September 28, 2016 from 4-7 PM at Nicholson & Carmon Funeral Home, 443 East St. N. (Rt. 159), Suffield. Family and friends may gather Thursday, September 29, 2016 at 9:00 AM at Nicholson & Carmon Funeral Home followed by a Mass of Christian Burial, 10 AM, at St. Mary's Church, Windsor Locks. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Windsor Locks.
