Windsor Locks Police Deal With Several Overdose Cases

Police reported three recent overdose cases.

WINDSOR LOCKS, CT - Windsor Locks Police reported that they have responded to three overdose calls in recent weeks.

According to police:

-- On Feb. 27, a 20-year-old male discovered unresponsive in his bedroom. 911 called and medical assistance was initiated. Officers arrived on scene and observed patient was exhibiting signs of a drug overdose. They provided medical care and one dose of Narcan was administered. A second dose was necessary which revived the patient. Transported to hospital for treatment.

-- On March 3, vehicle traveling northbound on Rt.159 in the area of WL Commons. He passed a vehicle on the left causing him to cross the double yellow line and sideswipe a vehicle traveling in the opposite direction. Suspect vehicle spun and struck a utility pole before coming to rest. Operator was exhibiting signs of heroin use. Officers administered one dose of Narcan which revived the operator. Transported hospital for minor lacerations and possible broken bones. Incident is under investigation and further charges are expected.

-- On March 7, officers responded to residence and found an unresponsive male in bathroom. Information and patient assessment by officers resulted in two Narcan doses being administered for possible overdose of illegal drugs, which revived the male. Transported to hospital.
