The Region 15 School Budget Referendum will take place on Wednesday, May 4. If you know that you will be out of town, or if your work schedule prevents you from voting that day, please apply for an Absentee Ballot. The process is simple and is outlined below.
Voting Locations/Time to Vote In Person
Southbury: Southbury Firehouse on Main St. South
Middlebury: Shepardson Community Center on Whittemore Road
Polls are open on May 4th, 6:00 a.m. - 8:00 p.m.

Absentee Ballots
Pick up an Absentee Ballot Application for a spouse, out-of-state college student, someone who will be out of town, a resident who is immobilized, or anyone with a conflict, as stated on the Application for Absentee Ballot that may prevent them from voting on the 2011-12 school budget on Wednesday, May 4th.

All Registered Voters or Owners of taxable property valued over $1,000 are eligible to vote. The property (real estate/home, motor vehicle, personal) must be listed in the person's name on the October 1, 2010 Grand List. Owner(s) must be U.S. Citizen(s) over 18 years of age.
STEP ONE:
Fill out an Application for Absentee Ballot. You can obtain an Application for Absentee Ballot the following ways:
- Download a copy at http://www.ct.gov/sots/LIB/sots/ElectionServices/ElectForms/electforms/ed3R.pdf.
You can then print an Application for Absentee Ballot for Referendum Authorized to be Held With Less Than 3 Weeks Notice (Form ED-3R REV 2/00) or, - Visit the Town Clerk's Office, Monday thru Friday

Middlebury Town Hall (203-758-2557, 1212 Whittemore Road)
STEP TWO:
Return the completed Application for Absentee Ballot to your Town Clerk in person or through a designee. Once your Application has been delivered, the Absentee Ballot can be obtained from the Town Clerk, either in person or through an authorized designee.
STEP THREE:
You can vote and cast the Absentee Ballot at the Town Clerk's office the very same day you pick it up. If you have appointed an authorized designee, your Absentee Ballot must be returned to the Town Clerk in person or by the authorized designee on or before the May 4th Referendum.
