
There’s a new face smiling down from the pulpit at St. George’s Episcopal Church in Middlebury as the Reverend Dr. Andrew H. Zeman takes over as Vicar, replacing Dr. William Hardwick who retired in January.
Father ‘Andy’ as he prefers to be called, was raised in West Hartford, Connecticut. A graduate of the Berkeley Divinity School which later incorporated as part New Haven’s Yale Divinity School, he was ordained an Episcopal priest in 1971.
Over a forty year ministry, Father Andy has served in Episcopal parishes throughout Connecticut, including: Tariffville, Hartford, Bethlehem, Easton and most recently, Oakville. He also served as priest in Onancock, Virginia.

Father Andy has already become a part of the larger Middlebury faith community by meeting with local pastors and in taking part in the May 3rd National Day of Prayer which was conducted on the Green. He is very interested in ecumenical relations among faith communities and no doubt many will soon come to know this gentle man and his deep commitment to making St. George’s Episcopal Church a place where all feel welcome.
He lives in Oakville and is married to Joyce Calo Zeman. He has one son, two step-children and one granddaughter.
