Where to go for Apple & Pumpkin Picking in CT

Have you had the pleasure of picking fresh apples yet this year?  How about choosing your very own pumpkin?

My husband, my grandmother (Nonni) and I just went apple picking this past Sunday at Silverman’s Farm in Easton.  A new tradition were starting!  The farm was buzzing with life; walking past a cute little petting zoo across from the actual farm, crossing the road and being greeted with fun, live, folkey music that was perfect for the season.  Some people were carrying pumpkins and others had bags full of apples.  We made our way in line and waited our turn for the tractor ride up the hills to the orchards.  Dropped off and excited to start, we head down a few rows and then a few more rows to find our perfect apples…..eating 1 or 2 along the way – yummy!  It was fun and different and cost under $20.00 for all 3 of us.  We just paid for the bag to fill our apples.

If you’re looking for something fun to do, get the family together or some friends and grab some fresh picked apples and enjoy them for the next week or make some apple cider or a homemade pie.  Don’t forget to pick out your pumpkins for Halloween.  It’s a great place to take some cute pictures to remember the day for years to come.
