Woodbury Info From the Town —

  • Woodbury Transfer Station closed Tuesday
  • At this time staff is prepared to open a emergency shelter at the Sr./Community Center if required ~ at this time the shelter NOT Open
  • If you have a power outage, please report it to CL&P first ~ 800.286.2000. Then you may call us at 203.263.3100 so we can map the problem also and follow up with CL&P.
  • If you need to speak with someone regarding a storm related issue or need non-emergency assistance please call 203.263.3100.
  • Once Governor Malloy lifts the travel ban, Town Officials will then determine when it will be safe for Town Offices to be reopened. Please check back or call for current information on opening and closings.
  • Woodbury Closings — Transfer Station is closed Tuesday; non-essential officers will be closed on Tuesday

Middlebury Info From the Town —

  • To All Middlebury Residents: The Middlebury Fire Department will be fully staffed and ready to respond to emergencies and will also be providing shelter, acting as a warming station and charging station for any local residence in need. Pomperaug High School also will be acting as a shelter.
  • Please be sure to shovel around any fire hydrants located near or on your property.
  • Please review the Town’s Parking Ordinance during and after snow and ice storms HERE.

Town of Woodbury CERT3 posted the following:

SAFTEY TIPS - disseminated by FEMA:

  • Old Man Winter can knock out power. Remember, only use generators in open areas away from your windows & home to prevent carbon monoxide poisoning.”
  • • “If you’re using a space heater during this bitter cold spell -- turn it off when you go to bed because it can get extra hot and may pose a fire risk.”

Region 14, Region 15 Make Decision on School Closings

Noon Monday Update:

Due to the upcoming blizzard this week, the Science Fair has been rescheduled for Tuesday, Feb. 3.

“Due to scheduling issues, we are asking parents to bring in the science fair projects only on Tuesday, Feb. 3rd,” according to a notice from Region 14. “They gym will be open all day for project drop-offs anytime between 7:30 a.m. and 5:30 p.m.”

The Science Fair will be held from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 3. The TEAM BETA open house will also be held at WMS from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at that time.

Malloy Issues Travel Ban for Connecticut

School Closing Info

Region 14 Schools will have a early dismissal on Monday. There will be no PM STAR Preschool. All Region 14 afternoon and evening activities are cancelled.

Monday, Jan. 26th: All Region 15 schools will have an Emergency Early Dismissal. PHS dismisses at 10:30 a.m.; Middle Schools at 11:05 a.m.; Elementary Schools at 12:05 p.m. For more information, visit the Region 15 Delays and Cancellations page.
