Concerns Reportedly Continue over Planned Woodbury Development Next to Former Dump

A Dollar General store is proposed for Main Street South.

WOODBURY, CT — Residents continue to voice concerns over the proposed development of a Dollar General store at 614 Main Street South in Woodbury, a site that sits next to a former dump.

Monday night, during a meeting of the Woodbury Inland Wetlands Agency, several residents again opposed the plan, which calls for the construction of a 10,000-square-foot building and a 60-space parking lot, reports the Waterbury Republican-American.

A representative of the developer says the project will not harm nearby wetlands and no trees will be cut down. The wetlands group will again discuss the proposal at a later date.
