Connecticut Mother Accused of Abusing Her Five Children

The woman is accused of beating them with a belt, a pole, and even a vacuum cleaner, police say.

There is a heartbreaking story of alleged child abuse in one Connecticut community.

Police say Alexandra Aucapina, 27, of New Fairfield, repeatedly abused her five children.

Police became aware of the abuse after the woman’s 9-year-old told school officials that her mother burned her hands, WFSB 3 television reports.

She said her mother would place the children upside down in the bathtub filled with water, police said. Aucapina is allegedly to have bound her children’s hands and feet with chords, and hit them with a belt, a metal pole, a stick, a log, a glass lid and even a vacuum cleaner, WFSB 3 reports.

Aucapina’s children have been removed from the house by the state Department of Children and Families.
