WOODBURY – Lee Warner, a veteran firefighter for more than 40 years, is the new captain of the Orenaug Company in the Woodbury Volunteer Fire Department. Warner was elected unanimously October 3rd to replace Kurt Gengenbach who resigned for personal reasons.

“I’ve been in the firehouse all my life,” Warner said, “and I appreciate the opportunity to serve.” His father, brother, sister, and son all have been fellow members of the WVFD. Warner, a former deputy fire chief and a lifelong Woodbury resident, is employed in the town public works department. As captain he will oversee fire-fighting operations of firemen and the five firetrucks plus several auxiliary vehicles based in the town’s Emergency Services Building, 25 Quassuk Road.

“Lee brings solid experience and strong commitment to firefighting and rescue,” said Fire Chief Janet B. Morgan. “He is popular and respected. We are really pleased that he was available to return to an officer position.”
