Lissa Lovetere-Stone Elected Vice President of Connecticut Funeral Directors Association

Woodbury Funeral Director is a Leader of Statewide Professional Organization

Lissa Lovetere-Stone, CCO, has been elected Vice President of the Connecticut Funeral Directors Association (CFDA). Lovetere-Stone most recently was the association’s 2025 Treasurer, and has served on its Executive Committee for the past three years. She was elected as 2026 Vice President at the CFDA’s Annual Meeting and Convention in December.

Lovetere-Stone is a licensed funeral director/embalmer and the President of Munson-Lovetere Funeral Homes, Inc. with locations in both Woodbury and Southbury. The niece of the late Joseph P. Stone, opened Stone Family Cremation Services & Pet Passages in Southbury, the only crematory in Connecticut that handles both human and pet members of the family.

Lovetere-Stone became a licensed funeral director/embalmer in 1990 after receiving her professional schooling from New England Institute of Applied Funeral Arts and Sciences, in the last class to graduate from its Kenmore Square campus in Boston, Mass. She also attended Boston University and holds a Bachelor’s degree from Mount Ida College in Newton, Mass. Her CCO designation indicates that she completed the National Funeral Directors Association’s Certified Crematory Operator program, and she has completed many other programs and certificates throughout her career.
