Middlebury, Woodbury Weather Update: Chilly Weekend, Then Warmer Weather
After two months of snow and ice, and sub-zero temperatures and wind chill alerts, it looks like spring is finally coming.

For the first time in seven weeks there isn’t any snow or ice forecast for this weekend.
Since mid January, it’s been snowstorm after snowstorm, especially on the weekends and Mondays, and when it wasn’t snowing or icing, we had to deal with sub-zero temperatures and wind chill alerts.

And yes, records were set for low temperatures Friday morning, but once we get past a chilly day today (highs in the 20s) and a cold evening (temps around 10 degrees), the news gets a little warmer.
If you check the 10-day weather forecast, there are no chances of snow, which takes us through March 15, and spring is fast-approaching.

And while we are nowhere near a heat wave yet, it will feel like one next week as temperatures in Middlebury and Woodbury could approach almost 50 degrees by Wednesday.
In fact, most of next week, we’ll exceed 40 degrees.
This weekend will still be chilly, but dry. It will be sunny on Saturday with temperatures in the 30s. On Sunday, there will be a mix of clouds and sun. Temperatures could hit 40 degrees.
NBC Connecticut Meteorologist Darren Sweeney writes on his Facebook page:
“Finally, a “good news” post: (Thursday’s) storm dropped nothing north, up to 7” or so south.
Is there warmth in sight? Short term, no… Friday: Cold, sunny, 20s. Saturday: A little better, close to freezing in many towns. Sunday: Perhaps reaching close to 40.
Next week: we build toward the 50 degree mark (perhaps?) on Wednesday.
There are signals of another cold setback toward next weekend, but we have time to worry about that.
The biggest headline here (and I’m kind of burying the lead), NO SNOW FOR MONDAY IN THE FORECAST… Certainly, we get some slow melting (which is a good thing) once we get into the weekend.Enjoy this break, we have earned it!”
WFSB 3 TV Meteorologist Scot Haney writes that Connecticut will be “storm-free for some time,” and temperatures approach 50 on Wednesday and Thursday of next week.
