Naugatuck Man Killed in Route 8 Accident
The man was walking along the highway late Tuesday and was hit by a Middlebury motorist.
Kevin L. Daly, 29, of 83 Pleasant Ave. in Naugatuck, was killed when he was struck by a vehicle while walking along Route 8 in Beacon Falls late Tuesday, the Waterbury Republican-American reports.
According to State Police, he was walking on northbound Route 8 near Exit 25 when he was struck by a van driven by a Middlebury man.
He was taken to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead. It’s unclear why he was walking on Route 8, but his car may have been stranded on the side of the road, state police said.

The driver immediately stopped and cooperated with police.
