New AED for Wellspring

Thanks to Grant from the Northwest Connecticut Community Foundation

Bethlehem, CT – Wellspring was recently awarded a grant for a new Automated External Defibrillator (AED) courtesy of the Carlton D. Fyler and Jenny R. Fyler Fund, a fund of the Northwest Connecticut Community Foundation, Inc.

“The Northwest Connecticut Community Foundation has provided the funding for an AED on Wellspring’s main campus that serves children, adolescents, adults, and families from the surrounding communities,” shared Janet Samela Sorrell, Wellspring’s Director of Nursing. “This AED will help ensure our organization is prepared to provide medical assistance if an individual is having a life-threatening cardiac event.”

With the AED provided through the generosity of this grant, Wellspring is more equipped to handle a heart-related emergency on their Bethlehem campus. All members of the direct care staff at Wellspring and the Arch Bridge School maintain CPR and AED certification.
