New Woodbury Playground Needs Additional Funding

Town officials are looking for more money in order to meet residents' requests for more equipment.

WOODBURY, CT — The new playground at Hollow Park in Woodbury needs about $75,000 for the project to be completed, according to Parks and Recreation Director Jenifer Miller.

So far, the town has set aside about $150,000 for the playground, which came out of a multi-million dollar capital budget allocation for other Woodbury improvements, reports the Waterbury Republican-American.

The new budget of $225,000 for the playground is the result of several parents and residents requesting additional equipment for kids to play on. The Board of Finance still has to find the money for the proposed equipment, and if it doesn't the plan will be scaled back.
